Messiaeniana is ideal as an organ music recital prelude or encore piece for intermediate to more advanced organists. It is a triumphal and fanfare-styled piece paying homage to the great twentieth-century French organist and composer, Olivier Messiaen. The work was composed for Nicholas Arden who gave the world premiere on the 1856 gold medal award-winning organ at the Abbey Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in the Dorset County town of Sherborne in England.
