“It is a delightful piece!” – Trent Rash, Executive Director, Missouri Symphony Orchestra.
A musical retelling from Mark Twain’s, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom, and his best friend, Huckleberry Finn, one day decide to dig for hidden treasure. They visit a haunted house and scare themselves silly when they overhear Injun Joe move his treasure to a secret cave. Not believing their luck, following the robber to his hideout is only the start of the boys’ problems.
With colourful orchestration, including a harmonica (optional), original themes meld with authentic western and Native American folksongs to highlight and underscore the drama. The duration is approximately 28 minutes while the musical setting is ideal younger audiences. Also, it is suitable for advanced youth orchestra performance. Optionally, the text may be delivered by a single narrator or may include two youth actors playing Tom and Huck. Further, even a second adult narrator may play the crook, Injun Joe. (This is a popular role for school Headmasters!)
